What book swap sites do you use?

I find my self spending so much time swapping books that it is cutting into my reading time. It started on just trying to fill the gaps in my unfinished series and has ended up with my finding lots of folks I have never read before. I am now addicted to book swapping sites.

Point of discussion, I use
Paperbackswap which is my favorite and seems to have the biggest selection.

Book Mooch which is easy but doesn't seem to get the traffic or books like Paperbackswap.

TitleTrader which allows you to list just about anything and trade it for books. (I am divesting myself of a wide range of computer parts in exchange for books.)

Swaptree which is my least favorite, hardest to use and zero communication from the site but they do allow you to rade CD's and DVD's for books.

So where do you swap your books and how do you like them?

I've only used Bookmooch, but they don't often have books I actually want!

Wow William- I had no idea there were so many swap sites. I had heard of Book Mooch. I've never tried any of them though. I still have so many unread books in my own library to get to!

Bookmooch is good. Paperbackswap http://www.paperbackswap.com seems to have a much broader and deeper selection of books. You get two free selections for signing up and listing 10 books. BTW if you decide to join, feel free to join from the link on my blog Pick of the Literate http://bookrevues.blogspot.com/ and I will get one free selection. :-) Regardless of the self serving nature of the plug, I find more books I want at Paperbackswap than I do at the other three.

TitleTrader has the worst selection but you can swap for kids clothes, computer parts etc. for your books.

Swaptree is the most restrictive in that you can't bank points (selections) like you can at the others. There has to be a specific request for one of your items before you can trade plus I have had more canceled trades there than elsewhere due to lack of response from the supposed active traders.

I also have a large pile waiting of books to read, I'm afraid that much like the kid in the candy store, when I see books from authors who I know I love and/or someone new who looks really interesting, I want the book. I suppose as addictive behavior goes a love of books is fairly benign.

Paperbackswap. I have swapped maybe five books out of the few I have listed. I love how you can put it on wishlist and if someone lists that book you are automatically in line to receive it. (I got a hardcovered awesome condition Eragon through this site.) I just got another book yesterday from Paperbackswap, The Secret Country.

I am definitely a Bookmoocher. When I first joined I did have some problems finding books I want, but over the last six months I've probably gotten a good 30 or so books that I had on my "Wishlist."

I used bookmooch only, it's almost my one year anniversary there! For the most part I've had great interactions, it's really fun! I'm one of those people that, when I have points, refreshes my wishlist all the time to find something good!

I like bookmooch as well. I have the most points there. There definately is a larger selection of scifi/fantasy at paperbackswap though. My wish list is out of hand but then sometimes so am I.

I use BookMooch, where I get the most action and it has a great community base.

I also use BookIns and SwapTree. ST, exclusively, to get rid of CD's and get books.

I used to use WhatsOnMyBookshelf which was horrible! Out of the dozen books I tried to get, only 2 participants even responded. And with one of those we ended up going to BM for the exchange so she could actually use the points she received from the trade.

I used TitleTrader for awhile but some of the traders made me a bit wary. Hard to explain, exactly.

I would love to be able to use ReadItSwapIt. They have tons of titles I want, but it's UK only :-(

Funny, TitleTrader does seem to have a strange ambience. I have had a couple of people I have traded with caution me to be wary of others on the site. The forum seems to have a lot of ill concealed anger as well. The highlight is that so far I haven’t been “taken” by anyone and I can trade computer gear for books. I have never heard of Bookins, I will look at it. I am not thrilled with SwapTree. I am not going to even look at ReaditSwapit because if it is really good, I may want to move to the UK.

Although both my sons travel to the UK regularly for biz, the closest I have gotten is playing golf with Colin from Manchester who periodically regales us with pungent brit profanes after a bad shot.

My guess then that he is also a rabid Manchester United fan. My oldest son has brought back some Manchester United gear after having imbibed prodigious quantities of beer with his Brit engineers.
