Blogging question

Hello everyone.
I'm new to blogging and so I have a general question.
I tried to copy the HTML from the Book Blogs badge to my blog and it didn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions/description for how to do it?

From your dashboard, make sure you click on the layout tab. Then over on the sidebar, click add a page element. Then choose the HTML/JavaScript button, paste in the code, hit save, and view the blog to see if it worked. Let me know how it goes! Good luck!

You must be using a different blogging site. I use wordpress and haven't been able to get it to work. Has anyone on wordpress had any luck?
