Who is using which? How do they compare? Does anyone use more that one? I've started using LT which I really like. Then found Goodreads and I've found the other participants are more active in GR than LT. AND then I found Shelfari and I really like their cool bookshelf for the widget but there's a lot of advertising. I really have attempted to analyze any but if you have strong pros or cons about any of these or know of others, please share.

I think I'm partial to Library Thing because I just love the whole listing thing and it is easy to use. I just view it as my online book diary and I use it when writing on my own book blog. I just bought a lifetime membership. I don't really look to it for participation as much as I just like using the library feature.

I use LibraryThing to catalog my historical fiction library and display the widget on my website. I like the way it looks and since I have it set to display my newest books I can use it to advertise books I am reading and reviewing (instead of displaying any book).

I use Shelfari to display books I have pending to review. This helps me keep up with my ever-growing list.

I've recently finished uploadinjg my modest collection onto LT, but i prefer the social networking side of GR and a british site bookarmy the users post alot in the forums and they have some authors onboard who take part in the debates. I quite enjoyed the agony of uploaded my titles onto two separate sites.

I have accounts on all three, but Shelfari is my favorite. I find it is the easiest to use. If you have an account there, I recently started a group for book bloggers, so stop on by.

After looking at LT and shelfari, I liked Shelfari's interface better and loved it - was on it at least once day, but then it morphed into a facebook wannabe and I haven't been back in months. I hadn't heard of good reads. Sounds like I need to give LT another chance as well.

I'm on LibraryThing exclusively.

I keep a .csv file of my books on my PDA so I can stop buying repeats. :)

sorry if this posts twice, I seem to have lost what I started.....I 'm on LT exclusively because they provide me with the best book discussions. I review every book I read and post a review on LT and on my blog. I really appreciate the lack of advertising on LT also. I do follow Book Blogs, but only thru a Blog feeder, and don't generally post reviews directly here. I'd frankly rather be spending my time reading books then blogs and certainly don't like to spend too much time posting.

I am on LT and I like it, but it is more for personal use as I feel the members there are not very active. I just found Shelfari and I am in love with the bookshelf widget!!

Librarything can get pretty complicated. It is a full catalog. Shelfari is much easier to handle and more straightforward. Most people I have seen using the widgets use Shelfari or Librarything.

I just joined goodreads the other day and so far it's been straight forward and fun. I can't really say how it compares to the other sites however.

I'm using Shelfari, but lately have got fed up with the uncountable number of bugs. Thinking of quitting Shelfari. Have joined Librarything and I think it's great. But not done anything much in it than just joining. Waiting for some free time to do it. Have never visited Goodreads. Let me go and see how it is :)

I Love LibraryThing. It was recommended by a friend after I'd been using GoodReads and Shelfari and although I find them all very similar, I realise I go back to LibraryThing much more. I find all 3 quite time consuming though, filling out profiles etc is very time consuming especially if your time is very precious.
