I have only recently discovered Stephanie Meyers and I bought the Host recently. I'm really looking forward to reading that and then this series too.

J. Kaye--I totally want to shut the world away. However, I've got family staying so it may have to wait a bit. I did pre-order at B&N so my mom and sister and I may head down there tomorrow night just for fun.

Trixie--I liked the Twilight series better than The Host, but The Host is still an enjoyable read. I'm just not used to too much sci-fi!

I've read The Host, her adult novel and enjoyed it immensely. I work with 4,5, and 6th graders - to anyone that has read any of the Twilight series - what do you think of these being suitable for those age levels? I know my 6th graders will be buying them and reading them anyway.

It is definitely a decision for parents based on the kids maturity and personality--but for me, it is a series for high schoolers.

I agree that it is definitely a series for high schoolers...especially Breaking Dawn! The underlying sexual tension throughout the series would be way too much for anyone younger...and of course...this is what kept me going!

During Breaking Dawn...I started off in shock...but after I told myself to just "go with it"...I enjoyed it. I mean...what else could she have done? The book worked with the series and I feel sorry that she was so pressured to produce! I can't imagine that.

I actually loved Breaking Dawn. Especially the 2nd time I read it through. Stephenie has actually said many times that she never intended her book to be for "young adults" straight from the beginning - she wrote them for her own entertainment. This story was established far before it was ever published. She expanded on the story to turn it into the series that it is, but still, the core of what she originally wrote still holds true.

After you get past the shock of what is going on and read the book just for entertainment - it was really wonderful. I LOVED Jacob's book. Jacob and his thoughts were very funny. Seth was great too. I "lol'ed" many times. I really wanted to have the power turn over to the Cullins at the end instead of having the Voltini back down like they did. BUT really, that is power that the Cullin family wasn't looking for and it never would have really made any sense. The whole Jacob imprinting on Reneseme was a little weird, but I didn't freak out like so many other people did. I think in the end, as long as you don't attach yourself to the characters as if you own them, read the book for entertainment purposes Breaking Dawn is great. I think Stephenie Meyer is a great writer. I think her strong points are character development, and I think she has a wonderful imagination and is very good about putting her vision down on paper. For someone who has no prior writing experience, this is wonderful. I really can't wait to read more from Stephenie...no matter what the topic matter is.

I've already read Breaking Dawn and I really enjoyed it. I'd heard a lot of bad reviews on it but it's earned it's way on keeper shelf.

I have read this book and it is my favorite yet of all the books i have ever read. Many parents from my school say it is a bad book.........yeaaaaaaaaa......NNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Hello people!?! Stephanie Myers is the best author in all history of love stories!! This book is by far the best book i have ever read! I have already read it twice. I don't do that often either!!!!!!!!! All of my friends and i gossip about what we think were to happen if the story continued.
And all i have to say to J.Kaye Oldner the story was incredibly romantic and filled with so much action!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
