A Strange Place Called Home - An Introduction

In the manner if Charles Dickens, who published The Pickwick Papers and Oliver Twist in installments in a popular magazine of the day, I plan to post a memoir of my walk across America chapter-by-chapter for interested readers and reviewers.  I welcome an open discussion of the trek and the topics, and criticism of the writing and the blog itself.  Here, for your consideration, is the introduction...

Sounds like a great idea.

Awesome!

I'm also following you!

As soon as I saw the name Dickens you caught my attention! I just checked out (and followed) your blog. I think the reason it worked for Dickens was because he could leave the readers wanting more. That's the same thing your installment does. It leaves the reader wanting more, which is always a good thing!

I think that sounds like a good idea...I'm subscribed to an email book club that does about the same thing. More would probably be a little overwhelming, both to you and the reader :)

Will the next post come out on top of this one? That'll be awkward...if you start reading one part before the others by accident.
Well, you CAN always go in and change the date posted manually, so it would seem the  latest posted is the first chapter...does that make sense?

No problem! I'd appreciate any advice you have about my new blog too:

Anything from first thoughts to errors. Thanks!

Gosh, I think that was the most helpful and constructive advice I have ever gotten. You balanced criticism and praise so well, I didn't even know where to feel bad! Thank you! I just changed my motto yesterday, actually. I felt like my previous tagline was too standard and didn't promote the blog name. What would you suggest my design be like? LOVE the idea about my reviews, by the way! Thank you so much!
I put a little something on my review of The Unidentified. Could you check it out? I called it Spark Concept, but I'm wondering if I should change it to Spark Ponder or Ponder the Spark. Thanks for all your help!
No I changed it yesterday from "For everything booksie!" to "Can books spark a revolution?". I won't be changing it anytime soon - I'm quite proud of it ;) It has another layer of meaning for me - Revolution (by Jennifer Donnelly) is my all-time favorite book, and even if my favorite changes, I like to think this is better that the last motto lol!

Hey L! More great ideas! Yay! What do you think of this background? It's so simple, and I'm not sure if the bird is a sparrow, but if it is, it goes with the book. You know where the sneakers and things are? I'd love to put a clock blinkie there. Two problems: I couldn't except this one (it says Harvest Hour), and I don't know how to add it even if I did have a good image.

I'll be sure to replace the word "concept"

For your third idea, I'm not sure what to say. TTT was just a random idea-I'm not even sure I'll stick with it. And I don't know how to connect that post with sparks or revolution. There's probably many more posts (past or future) that won't have anything to do with this. Thanks for your other ideas though! I love them :)
