I must have changed..updated and fiddled around with this description at least a dozen times!
Are their any 'taboos' or any right or wrong way to write a description. personally I find it very difficult to write about myself, how do other authors feel about this.
I just took another stab at writing my description after sinking a strong beer and 'hell with it' I am going to just tell the truth attitude.
this is my latest attempt at a description, please tell me if i have just committed 'Authors suicide'
If I am brutally honest I would say my writing style is unique. I probably break every grammar rule in the book as I like my stories to flow as if alive.
When I write a novel I structure it like I am building a house. First I begin with the foundations of the characters; I try to create them as human as possible with all the common frailties and traits that we all possess.
Then I start on the frame, or the outline of the story and then it is a race to build the walls, plaster the walls, put in the electrics and gas and then CRASH! The house explodes into life.
In Zachania I sometimes have a chapter with five or six different events running beside each other but all going to one direction, it is like five separate forest fires building in intensity until they burst into each other and become one.
I also love ‘dialogue’ I would say that my books are 70% conversations. I love how you can flow with speech, you can argue..teach..shout..be sincere..angry..cold..callous..loving..wicked..scary..calm....you name it, we can discuss it!
If you are after a novel that is the intellectually perfect then i am not for you but if you want to read something which will make the hair stand up on the back of necks and fill you with passion and excitement which will rouse your spirit then I could just be your ‘cup of tea’.
