Have you read any of the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich? This series makes me laugh out loud. I also love Christopher Moore. Blood Sucking Fiend got me laughing so hard I started crying.

Lori, for a good laugh, try some Bill Bryson (In a Sunburned Country is my favorite) or P.G. Wodehouse (many short stories are available online).

Bryson is also a good laugh, and In a Sunburned Country is a knee slapper.

Try maybe The Secret History of the Pink Carnation series by Lauren Willig. It's good, silly fun in the historical fiction genre. A little romance, a little swashbuckling adventure.

Hi I've got just the book for you. It was laugh out loud funny. Very light reading as you request. It's called Neurotica by Sue Margolis. In my Book Journal I've written (Easy read, A Bridget Jones Diary type book) I've also written some funny lines from the book. One I'll share here
"...after 30 years apppearing in a marriage without a speaking part Lou, it seemed, had balls afterall - he must have sewn them back on one night when Lilly wasn't looking"
and
"..Omigod, I look like someone turned the liposuction machine to blow"
:-) if you choose this book, let me know what you think

Whenever I am in need of cheering up, I turn to any of the Discworld novels. They always make me smile!

All good suggestions so far, although I must confess I do not know Robin Benway, nor do I know Lauren Willig (bad book seller I). I wish to suggest : A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian by Marina Lewycka. It is a quick, easy read, have a look at : http://www.loot.co.za/shop/main.jsp?page=detail&id=2394825082928 for a synopsis.
