Hey everyone!
I'm a new blogger myself, (my blog is about 4 weeks old), so I thought I'd start a post where new bloggers could post about their blogs and try to get a little more traffic.

As for my blog, it's available here:

http://themindfulmusingsbookblog.blogspot.com/

It's mainly a book blog for teen/young adult fiction. Check mine out, as well as the other bloggers who post!

Just wanted to drop by and say that I'm having my second contest ever to celebrate 100 followers! I remember going on here with only 3 followers, lol. I still can't believe how far I've gone. But I definitely couldn't have done it without you guys! :)
Check it out here for a chance to win 1 out of 6 books!

Hey guys!
Stop by the blog and check out my Follower Feature. If you're interested in participating, leave me a comment or shoot me an e-mail!

P.S. I was also thinking about setting up a system where we get a list of bloggers from this group, and do a sort of blogger of the week feature. Basically, everyone who signs up would get put on a list, and one blogger would be chosen by me per week. Everyone else participating would agree to dedicate one post to that person's blog, linking, and telling what they liked, etc. This might get everyone here a little more traffic/followers, etc? I'm not sure. What do you guys think?
I think that sounds like a great idea! I would be more than happy to participate in something like that. :)
I like this idea too! Let me know how to participate!
If you guys are interested, shoot me an e-mail @ mindfulmusings@live.com so I can start building a list! Once we get enough on the list, I'll send everyone an update!
I love this idea too - what a fun unique idea and new traffic is always nice - though your traffic far and away is bigger than mine :)
I like your idea of Blogger of the Week, especially with everyone sending a post to the winner's blog. What a great way to make new friends and connections! If you decide to do this, I'm in.

Mine isn't quite ready for the public yet, but I'll let everyone here have a sneak peak. I've got some filler spots where I still need to write the reviews. I've also got some reviews that to me seem like they need a little more meat to them. The site is http://rhodesreview.com/blog/

One main problem I've had, and it might be discussed elsewhere, is how you keep your blog from looking un-biased. When you look through my selection of books, you can discern my political persuasions, religious views, etc. it seems. However, I"d like it to look a little more balanced. However there are some "authors" whose views I don't agree with, and while I'd post reviews of their books, I don't particularly want to read their books, or support them with my money.

One thought around this is finding friends and others who represent those demographics and using them as contributors. How does everyone here manage it?

Another issue, I've seen where people share links to their blogs. My blog area is wordpress driven. Is there something I can add so that people can add their own blogs that appear in the sidebar widget, or do I have to do that manually?

What are followers and will wodpress tell me how many I have?

I'd love any feedback on the whole site, what I can do differently, etc.?
For me, my blog is a place where I express my opinions and my feelings and responses to the books that I read. I don't treat it as a forum necessarily- bias for me isn't an issue because this is my personal collection of writings. If I didn't like a book I'll outline the reasons why; if I loved a book, I'll say why too. I have comment moderation turned on for the same reason- my blog is my space and I'll decide what enters that space.

Basically, I'm favor of writing and posting what you personally find to be meaningful and valuable. As long as your blog is something that you personally are proud of then others will likely view it in the same light as well. Keep up the good work!

Natalie:

Like your site! I'm impressed at what you've done with it in such a short amount of time. You inspire me-- I'm your latest follower.

If you'd like to check out my new site, I could use some followers as well:
