Are there any Stephen King fans here? I love Stephen King and have all his books.

He has been a great influence on my own work as a writer too, as I love writing ghost and horror stories (some of which I have published on Amazon Kindle).

What is your favourite Stephen King book? Mine are Salem's Lot, The Shining, Misery and IT.

I like and was inspired by Mr. King. My favs are "The Shining" and "Salem's Lot." I can't write horror to the degree he does, but I call mine mild horror. And I just can't help but inject humor. I also enjoy "end of the world" books, but aren't seeing as many as I used to.

I've enjoyed King for years. Probably my favourites are IT, Bag of Bones, The Tommyknockers and Insomnia.

I've read & owe every one of his books! Off the top of my head, my favs are The Stand, Salem's Lot, and Christine.

I've only read one of his books, which is The Green Mile - one of my favourites. Brilliant work. I will certainly read some more of his work as The Green Mile was an inspirational piece of fiction.

The Stand is my favorite book, period. It was epic and involving. I just read Wind Through the Keyhole and I was impressed by the way it flowed. I hadn't read a King book in awhile but Keyhole reminded me why he's my favorite author.

I too have learned alot from Steven King.  I read several scenes from Bag of Bones over and over again to understand what makes a scene scary.   His book "On Writing" is an excellent text on the craft of writing.

Last year I finished the The Dark Tower series, including the book he released last year.  It's an excellent series I would recommend.  11/22/63 is fabulous, one of those time-travel books you have to think about for days afterward.  My all time favorite is The Talisman, co-written with Peter Straub.

Reading the responses from others I wonder if I should try to read IT again.  I had a small child when I tried the first time and found it so disturbing.

Get ready for a new Stephen King release titled JOYLAND...I can only imagine what that means!! It will be out late Spring.

I like his short stories, but sometimes find him really mind-boggling and have to be in the mood. However, he has a great writing style and an imagination second to none!! A brilliant mind...definetly!
