Are Link-Ups Effective in Spreading The Word?

http://betweenthelinesandmore.blogspot.com/

I've participated in a few link-ups in the last couple of months and
they do seem to generate some significant traffic. So I've decided to
start one that is exclusively for current reviews (Within the last 30 days).

I'll be posting the Linky every Monday. Guidelines are listed with the Linky. So feel free to link up your current book reviews.

What experience have you had with linking up your reviews? Does it work for you?

Let's Get The Word Out! Help readers find just the right book for them.

I think that's the big problem with other bloggers. Yay.

You're welcome. I hope this list will grow every month and become a huge resource for readers and a great promo opp for reviewers and authors.

YESS! THEY ARE... :)

Hi All,
As it is Friday now in my country, I want to announce the 2nd NRSB...
The rules are simple.. No Rules :)
Just enter your link and make new friends..
The Linky will be opened until Monday..

I have found that sometimes link-ups generate significant traffic ... other times, not so much. I can't seem to find any rhyme or reason!!!
Thanks Lynda I get a great deal of visiters during the weekend with Crazy about books blogspot. I would love to find another link for getting my reviews out. I appreciate the help.
I've never done a link-up before since I am a fairly new blogger, but I am interested in learning more about them.
I've recently really started to look at just what is happening with the linkys that I follow and sign up on-- it was kind of disappointing because I am the type to genuinely go through and read reviews or visit blogs. I like a lot that I have an interest in or that has a fun blogger behind it. I found though that a lot of the folks participating where just dropping their links and then leaving, not even bothering to check out anything else.

When you start following and following and comment etc, and then have hundreds of blogs that you follow but only gain maybe one follower a week it becomes obvious that people are not doing the same.

I am still willing to try though, I just am more watchful right now because so many ppl say yeah, I'll like you back, but never even swing by. And I am not saying ppl should follow just to follow, but at least say, hey I checked it out and your blog is not for me-- I do it all the time-- just to support.
totally agree with you. i hate when i put in effort and no one does it back :(

When I join a link up, I try to read and comment on at least three other posts that have been linked. It seems only fair. And I try to give the late linkers some love, too, since I think they are least likely to get a lot of hits from joining up.

When I find a blogger I really like, I do stick around and become a frequent commenter. I prefer reading the same people's stuff on a regular basis to the luck-of-the-draw of linkies, but I have to admit that I found some of my favourite reads because they linked up somewhere.
whats a link up?
