Hi Everyone-

I am a fiction writer.  However, I do also write a blog, which I post here as well as redroom.com where I am currently located. 

I am also building a website with wordpress.  My question is do many of you think that it would be more advantageous to have my blog on wordpress than Red Room?  Red Room doesn't get a lot of traffic, but I have built up a following, which I don't want to lose if I move.  However, I always want to build my audience.  Any suggestions?

Definitely switch to a WordPress blog. But you might want to keep it separate from your website, depending on how personal your blog is.

There's an other option, which I use: get your own URL and install Wordpress on it.

Inexpensive hosting services (I use Hostgator & really like them, good tech support) let you install Wordpress for free on your site.

The advantage is that you completely own everything, and have complete control over it . . .

As far as your traffic, what I would do when you build your new site is keep the Red Room site live for a year or so, and direct visitors to your new site during that period.
