Thanks for taking the time to read this!

I started a book blog about 2 months ago and I am having so much fun with it! Unfortunately, I am horrible at designing anything. My friend created my current blog header but it is only temporary and I'd much rather have a different one unique to my blog! I don't even like my current color scheme but whenever I change it, it never matches. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions? I can really use all the help I can get!

I think your blog is super cute, but for back ground ideas and cute stuff you can check cutest blog on the block!

I don't think you need to be worried that much. Overall your blog looks fine. I've seen plenty of blogs around here that had little thought about a user-friendly design on them. Blogs are meant for the content to stand out, not the design. That's just my opinion.

One thing to consider in a website or a blog is accessibility. Although a lot of things can be considered, the main issues are contrast between background and foreground colors, avoiding too many animated images and a clear order of presentation (what is important should be easily found or be on the foreground).

To give you a few examples for your site:

Your menu-bar, for example, has too little contrast to be noticed easily.

You further have text parts in light colors, which are not easy to read.

The split between different posts could be a bit more distinct.
