Hi everyone, I have had several authors say that they would like to do a giveaway or interview along with the review of their book. I have been hesitant to do either and wanted to ask a quick question.
As an Author, Do you prefer your book to be in a giveaway all by itself or is it ok to be in with other books?
As a person ENTERING a giveaway, Do you prefer to be able to put your name in for one book at a time, or would you prefer a pool of books?
Thank you for your feedback!
I have a CURRENT GIVEAWAY with Matched, City of Ember, Saving Rachel, and Hunger Games up on my blog right now... Only a few days left to enter if you are interested!

I am currently giving away a copy of Wings of Fate until June 4 on ...
I will definately check out your giveaway! I just had great success with a pool of books (54 entries!) which I thought was pretty good for my first giveaway ever.
I am still torn whether or not to do one book at a time with individual authors books... maybe I can just ask the authors their preference?

Permalink Reply by Vanessa on May 27, 2011 at 1:21pm I don't really have much experience doing giveaways yet, but if it were me this is what I would do:
If you are doing giveaways jsut for the sake of doing them (and exposing your author) do them one book at a time, but save your pools for a milestone (birthday giveaway, 200 or however many followers, something like that) and ask the author if he/she would like to take part in this special event by having their book be part of the giveaway. This way it gives you the opportunity to focus on the author plus lets you have a big giveaway that will attract more entires while making the author feel like they are being a part of something huge on your blog (am I rambling or does this make sense? lol)
Let me know how it goes and good luck :)
Completely makes sense :) I think that is a good rule of thumb. The individual books can be to help support the book... keep the big ones seperate for milestones- but they can still be hosted by several authors..
I like it!

Permalink Reply by Susan Ee on May 31, 2011 at 12:16am Great question, KW!
As an author, I'm thrilled to have my book mentioned on blogs, either as part of a group or solo. My hope would be that there's an image of the cover and a link to Amazon where people can buy it. Really, any mention of the book on the net is a favor to the author so I don't think you need to worry about offending anyone. I would be excited with something like this on a blog even if there are other books in the pool:
Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, Book 1)
As a receiver, I'd prefer to cherry pick the book(s) I'd like to win. :-)thanks for your perspective! Its good to hear it wouldn't be offensive!
