I have only been blogging for three months. I have close to 5,000 page views but nobody ever leaves a comment ....maybe I have had six comments. I've tried posting questions but get very little response. My blog is Joyce's Choices at http://jssherr.blogspot.com

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, Joyce,

I agree with other comments. There are too many sentences in all caps in your blog. It makes it seem as if you're shouting your sentences. I also noticed that, like me, you tend to want to use too many exclamation points!

I don't get many comments on my blog; mostly it is other bloggers visiting after I've visited theirs, I think. I do get more comments the more I comment on other blogs. It's just some weeks I have more time than others, so I can't keep a consistent pace.

Three months isn't a long time to be at it, though, so you'll probably get more comments down the line!

Thanyou Laurie.. I have now put all this months and lat month's post in lower case...lesson learned as they say...and I am working on the exclamation points.. Such good advice and thankyou.

Hi Joyce - well done on getting to 5,000 page views, there's clearly plenty of interest in what you have to say. I don't get a huge number of comments on my blog (although this is growing). Personally, I don't think it's worth getting too hung up about. As long as people are reading an enjoying my blog, and the stats would suggest that at the moment, then comments aren't the be-all-and-end-all at the moment.

Having said that, a big reason I started my blog was to open a dialogue with other readers, and I suspect this is similar to other bloggers on here. My best advice is to build relationships, and not to go out looking for comments or hits, etc. Don't measure success quantitatively, measure it in the quality of friendship your blog allows you to develop, the rest will follow organically. And incidentally, the people who I have the best relationships with online, are the ones who return to my blog time and time again, and leave comments, just as I do to theirs. It's simply a case of respecting someone's opinion, liking them, and being interested in what they have to say.

Whatever you do though, it's a building process. You've already got some great advice above about meme, etc. and these will bump up your comments for now, but think of it as a long-term investment.

Joyce, you need to put stat counter on your blog so you can see just how many people are coming to your blog.  It doesn't matter about the comments.  Do you have any followers?  What do you blog about?

Hi Sandy, I have a stat counter and have close to 5000 page views ..I also have 55 followers. I have a book blog called Joyce's Choices at http:// www.JSSHERR.blogspot.com
I do lighthearted, short book reviews of contemporary fiction and non fiction mixed with quirky commentary...and you're right about the comments...moving on.....thankyou
