Since this is a community on blogging about books I was wondering what everyone is currently reading and blogging about. I love to find new authors and books that others are reading and loving, so I'll start with what I'm currently reading.
I'm currently reading Promise of the Rose by Brenda Joyce.
I am currently reading Jane Austen's Emma - this choice was inspired by the BBC's latest adaptation of it. Have just finished The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons
Dear Phoebe:
In addition to my near-constant perusal of Pinsky's translation of Dante's Inferno, I have recently dipped into The Big Oyster by Mark Kurlansky which explores the history of New York through the lens of its oyster-growing history. Amazingly, when one considers today's improving but not yet oyster rich harbor, New York was once the oyster producing capital of the world and oysters were a critical part of its life and culture. It is really quite interesting.
Sincerely,
Randolph
I am nearing the end of Ragtime by E.L. Doctorow. I resisted reading it for a long time (didn't think I would like it) but am actually enjoying it quite a bit. It is fast-moving and extremely well written. I would definitely recommend it.

I know... I'm way behind in my reading. I'm reading Eat Pray Love. On page 116 and can't wait to throw in my two-cent review! I'm one of the readers who only review what I've enjoyed.
Currently I am reading way to much. I am giving Wicked by Gregory Maguire another shot simply because I hated it when I first read it 3 years ago but since my co-worker convinced me to listen to the soundtrack to the musical (which I loved) I thought I would give the book another chance and I'm actually enjoying it this time around. I also just started Echos of Mercy by Nancy Alcorn the founder of Mercy Ministries which is awesome! It's about how Nancy went from working for the state of Tennessee to founding Mercy Ministries it's such an amazing story and the stories about the girls that they helped are so moving. Then I am taking an intro to prose class and we are supposed to start The Sound and the Fury by Faulkner for next week. I also started The Bonemans Daughters by Ted Dekker a couple weeks ago and have just a couple pages to go there but I forgot about it until yesterday and it has to go back to the library soon so I really don't know if I will finish that one.
