Since this is a community on blogging about books I was wondering what everyone is currently reading and blogging about. I love to find new authors and books that others are reading and loving, so I'll start with what I'm currently reading.
I'm currently reading Promise of the Rose by Brenda Joyce.
I've just started reading Marian Keyes's Watermelon. Needed something light to read as I've just finished Night by Elie Wiesel and Oscar and the Lady in Pink by Eric Emmanuel Schmitt.
I've also just started recording my thoughts on each book and enjoy every second of it. You can catch me at www.ulatbukuinthecity.blogspot.com
Last night, I finished My Father's Paradise, Ariel Sabar's tale retracing his father's flight from Kurdish Iraq to Israel and on to the U.S.; it also highlights the father's scholarly efforts to preserve the Aramaic language. Next up is The Black Tower by Louis Bayard. He was one of the 20 mystery authors who did guest posts at The Baltimore Sun's book blog to mark the Bouchercon conference. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/books/blog/bouchercon/
I'm currently reading Gregory McGurie's A Lion Among Men which is the third book in his Wicked series which is a parallel or revisionist view of the Wizard of Oz story. It starts off 8 years later from Son of the Witch which was the sequel to Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. http://www.gregorymaguire.com/
I just finished The Serial Killer Files, The Who, What, Where, How, and Why of the World’s Most Terrifying Murders by Harold Schechter and I posted the review for it on my blog a few minutes ago.
I am starting into the pile of 5 books I received yesterday from Miriam.
I'm going to begin with The Smart One and the Pretty One by Claire LaZebnik, today.
I'm currently reading various selections from The Mammoth Book of Modern Ghost Stories as well as Not In Kansas Anymore: Dark Arts, Sex Spells, Money Magic, and Other Things Your Neighbors Aren't Telling You by Christine Wicker...quirky and interesting!
I'm currently reading two things right now. The Memorist by MJ Rose and The Rabbi's Cat by Joann Sfar. Both very different, but very good reads right now.
I just finished up At the Mountains of Madness by HP Lovecraft. I was expecting to be blown away by it, but unfortunately I was very disappointed. I need to find something GREAT to follow-up with!!!
