Since this is a community on blogging about books I was wondering what everyone is currently reading and blogging about. I love to find new authors and books that others are reading and loving, so I'll start with what I'm currently reading.

I'm currently reading Promise of the Rose by Brenda Joyce.

I'm currently reading Wolf Hall by Hillary Mantel. I may be reading it for the rest of the year - it's fascinating and very well-written, but it is long (over 600 pages). I don't mind the length - in fact, I'm enjoying the book tremendously and learning a lot - but will probably need to put it aside for a while to read my book club's current book, The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood. Talk about two completely different books - one set in Henry VIII's England, the other in a futuristic dystopian society!!

I will be starting a Major Authors: Mark Twain class for winter semester so I got a jump and started reading Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. I am reading one by myself (Sawyer) and Huck with my 7 year old daughter. When I am done with each read I will switch and read Sawyer with my daughter and Huck as a personal reread. I read both of these in elementary school and can't get enough of them. It's amazing to me that these written over 100 years ago!

To tell you honestly, I don't blog at all but I do read. I'm reading The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson and Timequake by Kurt Vonnegut. Next on my list is some Sherlock Holmes and Steinbach. I finished reading McKnight in Shining Armor by Tami Hoag and I'm currently reading Howl Deadly by Linda O. Johnston.

I'm currently reading The Waste Lands (Book 3 of the The Dark Tower series) by Stephen King. I'm planning on reading Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind and The Cold Spot by Tom Piccirilli next.

Have just read The Bell by Iris Murdoch and am reading The Clothes on their Backs by Linda Grant. Have a vast number of books TBR........:) Nothing better when the snow is lying on the groung outside.

Am new here - please feel free to become a friend. I met someone lately who told me reading was a substitute for living. I think its the other way round...
