Since this is a community on blogging about books I was wondering what everyone is currently reading and blogging about. I love to find new authors and books that others are reading and loving, so I'll start with what I'm currently reading.
I'm currently reading Promise of the Rose by Brenda Joyce.
I just finished The Good Mother by Sue Miller - a cautionary tale, if ever there was one! And I'm blogging on Nina Vida on Writing. Check out the post "Blogging My Book." I slather book bloggers with well-deserved praise.
Someone recently handed me Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. So far, it's wonderful and I'm looking forward to picking up his new one when I'm done. I just finished The Scarecrow by Michael Connelly, which was definitely up to his high standard, though not as good as The Poet. I'm trying to decide between In the Woods by Tana French and The Court of the Air by Stephen Hunt for my next fiction outing. (I like to keep two Fiction and one non fiction going). On the NF side, I'm re-reading The World of Christopher Marlowe, quite good if you are at all interested in the life and education of a 16th century playwright. It's research for me, but I'm quite enjoying it all the same.
1. Paranoia--Joe Finder: I know the author from Twitter and he put it on sale at Amazon so I got it. Just a few pages in but good so far
2. Build My World- Rebecca Miller: Becky is a friend of mine and her stories are a bit of a guilty pleasure. She recently uploaded her work to Amazon so I downloaded both this one and her other one Save Me and I'm anticipating her 3rd Going Home.
3. Physick Book of Deliverance Dane- Katherine Howe: saw this on the indiebound list of Great Reads so I picked it up. I'm very interested in anything involving the Salem Witch Trials, so this looked great to me.
I've just finished THE PERFECT POISON by Jayne Ann Krentz writing as Amanda Quick. This is the newest in her Arcane Society romantic suspense/mystery novels. It was quite enjoyable and well-written. I confess to having a particular interest in romantic mystery fiction since I write it myself.
Jacqueline Seewald
author of THE DROWNING POOL, Five Star/Gale
THE INFERNO COLLECTION, Five Star/Gale hardcover, Wheeler large print
I'm reading Body Of Evidence by Patricia Cornwell. I'll likely have it finished today. I'm also reading Webmage by Kelly McCullough (spelling? has to be close) which I haven't really been able to get into but I'll give it another go once I finish this book. I guess I'm a schizo blogger. I just posted about another Fear Street book. I have a soap blog where I babble about my soaps but my regular blog has book posts, TV posts, and just me babbling about whatever pops into my head.
I would recommend Beautiful Bad Girl. The book is story of Vicki Morgan, mistress to department store heir and Ronald Reagan confidante, Alfred Bloomingdale Vicki was ultimately the victim of a brutal murder about which there is still a lot of controversy. It is filled with power, intrigue, sex and obsession, Shows what it is like to get mixed up with some of the world's most rich and powerful people..
