Since this is a community on blogging about books I was wondering what everyone is currently reading and blogging about. I love to find new authors and books that others are reading and loving, so I'll start with what I'm currently reading.

The first and second thread was getting really long so I decided to start a fresh one for people to start posting in.

I am currently reading Boomsday, by Christopher Buckley. It is about a young woman who comes up with the idea of presenting legislation that will allow Baby Boomers to voluntarily "transition" or commit suicide at age 70... you know, to help the country out of its recession and debt. Besides, Babyboomers are really messing things up... using all the social security funds and living lives of leisure not wanting to work, etc...

Ahem. I am a boomer. Social Security is not getting used up by us, it is getting misappropriated by politicians. I have worked for every penny I have ever had. Not many.  It is true I have not saved enough for my retirement... but I am not and never have lived off the system. I do NOT want to voluntarily transition at age 70, even if it is a good long ways off.

Funny thing... I am enjoying the book.  It is a great way to get us all talking about the issue of SS. It is a great laugh and well written, even if a little short on action and long on narrative. Buckley is a great writer.

My own novel, for those who like to discover new writers, is Across the Desperate Miles...

I'm currently reading Need by Carrie Jones and NOOKbook Fallen by Erin McCarthy.
Reading Power Why Some People Have It and Others Don't by Jeffrey Pfeffer
I'm currently reading Captivate by Carrie Jones and NOOKbook Sacred Sins by Nora Roberts.
I just finished An Amish Love, a recent release from Thomas Nelson. Surprisingly good, even though I normally don't go for sweet romances.
