I'm enjoying your novel. Please tell me more of the derivation of the word slaaf. Also, in reviewing your novel, readers are interested in who may have influenced a writer, who are your literary influences?

The word slaaf means slave derived from the Dutch slave trade that occurred around the world and in the carribean. My interest in reading began when I was young and I red a lot of Enid blyton. I don't have any particular author that influences me but I am more of a story teller rather than a sophisticated writer.

I have been busy these past two weeks in the "non-book world" of my career working on several projects and i have been a poor blogger and a bad reader!
