Displaying Book Covers - legal or illegal?

I have just come upon an article about the legality of websites (which also includes I suppose blogs) that display book covers. Many of us do it but now I am not sure if we should. Can an author actually sue me if my review of their book happens to be unfavorable?

I believe it is legal or we would of already heard of other reviewers having problems.
