I blog any book I like.

Sometimes, the book comes to me through paperbackswap.com, and I am surprised to see it has been self-published.

I used to have that literary attitude towards print-on-demand, etc., but with the downturn in publishing, I am wondering why let editors and agents have power over what gets into print.

Has anyone else run into this thought/problem/decision about a book review for your blog?

Yes, I review self published books. I don't say yes to every book that is pitched for review but the vast majority of books I receive for review are self published.
Eileen, on our site, we use Literary Match Bouts as a way of engaging readers to provide valuable feedback for our participating writers, many of whom are self-published authors. We truly want to help some of the better talent get noticed through this system. It's just one other way for members of the public to help readers out there to decide what's worth reading. Regards!

WHERE SELF-PUBLISHED AUTHORS COME TO GET NOTICED

REVIEW ONE TODAY
I don't review self-published books. It's nothing against the authors (I think they have a lot of guts to take the financial risk of self-publishing), but I can only read and review so many books, so I focus my energies on professionally published books that are more likely to become popular and have less grammatical errors.
