Throughout a conversation with another blogger a few months ago which spanned about a week (I was still pretty new to blogging), I learned about the idea of adding links to other reviews at the bottom of my review as a way to help provide additional options for my readers, as well as to help other bloggers get traffic to their blogs as well.
An added bonus - I believe that if you participate with Technorati rating, this will increase your score.
My assumption after that conversation was that other bloggers would love the links to thier reviwes.
My question: Do you like to see links to your reviews on other blogs?
I link to anyone whose review I can find, so it's not the linking I don't like. It's the: "I read this book, too! Here's my review (link inserted here)."
It's also not the various viewpoints; I'll link to anyone who reviewed the book, as I could care less if they agree with me. But I feel to come onto someone's blog and leave a link without a thoughtful comment, or a, "Would you mind linking to my review as well?" is rude.
I've also had someone come on and say, "Here's my review (link inserted here)!" and then they saw that I HAD linked to them, so they obviously hadn't read my review!
Interesting. I would find it annoying to have people e-mail me continually to have their review added because it makes more work for me as a blogger than if they just link themselves in the comments.
It's difficult to know (without having had this conversation with a blogger) which they prefer without a message about it at the bottom of reviews. I'm revamping my blog and review format in the new year so I'll have to remember to address this in the blurb at the end of each review.
I know I got tired of putting, "Did I miss your review? Let me know!" at the end of every post. So, I don't mind when people add their link in the comments. I really don't think they are trying to be distasteful.
Personally if I reply to a review AND include my link I would have replied to the review anyways. Also I never leave a link unless they already have a list of other reviews.
I like linking to others' reviews. I usually try to post around three in each of my review posts if they can be found, and I go back and update them as well if people send me links. I like being linked to other reviews as well since that was the original question.
I have been aqdding links to other bloggers reviews for a while now. I don't always remembered who reviewed what, so I put a little notice at the bottom of my revfiews: "Note: If you have also reviewed this book, please leave the link to your review in comments and I will post it at the bottom of my review."
Honestly, I add an "also reviewed by" section to all my reviews, not because I have read them, but to give readers other opinions. I know that mine isn't the only one and just because I liked a novel, doesn't mean someone else has.
At the same time, I love seeing my links on other blogs simply for the fact that I didn't put it there. I will generally read the reviews where my link is placed, but I tend to use Google Alerts to find other reviews of ones I have done. So I can't say that I've read all the reviews that I link to.
Yes I'd love to see my reviews linked. I've started adding links to other's reviews on my blog but so far haven't seen very many of mine linked on others. I don't read much the same as other book bloggers though.

Knowing books draw different views and opinions from everyone, I find it nice to see other reviews on the same book. Especially if I am on the fence about reading it. As a reviewer myself, I think it is always pleasant to see a link to a review or our site by a fellow book lover. It makes me feel appreciated for what we do. Now on the flip side, I myself am horrible about doing this. Yes, an honesty break. ;) I know I should, but I feel my compensation for my lack of support in individual reviews is made up for by my blogroll, where we add other review sites we find enjoyable and believe our readers will too. So I guess it is all in the way you decide to give your shout out to your fellow reviewers.
I always try to find other reviews to link to, and certainly welcome links to mine. It helps with traffic and with rankings.
And, I welcome links to your reviews/blog posts in the comments. In fact, I have a plug in called Comment Luv that looks for a commentators last blog post and automatically adds a link to it. It's meant to encourage people to leave comments. The plug in is now available for folks using Blogger.
