If you have a massive collection of books, do you remember what happened in each of them? I'm starting to worry that I'm going to forget

Sadly no. I don't remember what happens in every book that I read but the beauty of books is you can go back and reread them. Also, while you forget many of the books you read there are always the few that capture your heart and you will never forget them.
On another note I followed you. Great blog!

Lord, no! I don't even remember what happened in every novel and short story I'VE written.

I can usually remember the main plot, and the names of the characters, and I can probably recall at least one thing about the book that I particularly liked (the writing style, a scene etc.).
Mostly however, I remember how the book made me feel. :)

Part of the reason why I started my blog was because I realized that there were books that I had read where I'd completely forgotten the plot. Writing my reactions to each book that I've read helps me remember them all.

i might not remember what specifically what happens in a specific book after I read it, but i'll remember a major plot point or something that will trigger memories if someone mentions looking for a specific theme etc

Ah great! I was getting really sad when I couldn't remember EVERY little detail in every book!

I have read quite a few books and you shouldnt forget them at all you will just remember the best bits and what the book is based on :)
I can't even remember what books Ive read let alone what they were all about! Thats one thing thats nice about having a blog, I can look back at what I have read for the last 1 1/2 yrs!

With the avalanche of information that we are hit with every day, it's impossible to remember what happens in our own lives, much less in a book you read a decade ago. I tend to remember the plots of my favorite books, but many books are so forgetable. Why clutter your brain with all that useless information? If you really enjoyed a book, you can always go back and reread it and savor the experience of loving it once more.

Do you remember every movie you've seen?
Every TV show?
Of course not, you'd go mad. You just remember the ones that impressed you the most, or those you felt a connection with.
Same with books.

I have read thousands of books, and own a couple hundred so I would emphatically say no I don't.

I often remember them, or part of them. If I forget, I usually remember if I re-read the synopsis. I don't know why - I've read hundreds upon hundreds of books, but there you have it.
