Does anyone know of any free ways to promote yourself as an author?

I have an official Facebook fan page but I don't know where to market this at. I'm a dark fiction Kindle eBook author, just to help with identifying my target market. Any ideas?

$1, $2, $3 & $7 Book Author promotions now available on The Indie List! It's not free, but pretty cheap! We list all genres of books! We have separate tabs for each genre.

$2 Standard Listing include book cover, blurb, and buy links. Listing remains on site for 3 months.

$3 Featured Book Listings include book cover, blurb, buy links, website link, and twitter link (or HTML twitter button code if you have one). Your book is featured on the Home page of the site (as a Featured Book) for 5 days, and then moved under the appropriate genre tab for an additional 3 months.

$7 Author Interview page includes your own tab, author photo, Q&A interview questions, your bio (if you have one), up to 6 of your books fully listed with book cover, blurb, and buy links for each book, website links, facebook link, twitter link or button.
