Don't Miss the Book Blogger Convention - May 28th, 2010 in New York C

Riding on the heels of BEA, we are having a Book Blogger Convention! Held in New York City on May 28th, this is an event that you do not want to miss. Not only will there be a a full day of panels, a keynote speaker, but when else will you be able to geek out with your favorite book bloggers? All details regarding registration and cost is on the Book Blogger Convention blog. You can also follow the Con on Twitter. I suggest registering early to take advantage of the early bird prices.

I attended BEA last year and it was amazing. Adding our own Book Blogger event to the mix is really exciting and I hope to see you there! (And let all your blogging friends know too - if you could mention the Con on your blogs or Twitter that would be fantastic.

Wow this would be so cool, but I live in Missouri and don't think I could afford airfare, room and fee..bummer.
Let me think on this one. I am going to Book Expo America. which is on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
We purposely scheduled the Con, so it would be easy for those going to BEA, attend. We'd love to have you!
This is an awesome idea! I will be there to support it. However, not every book blogger knows the benefits of going to BEA other than the idea of being surrounded by books and those that make them. BEA often promotes that event to booksellers and publishers although it's not exclusive. Last year, there was a book blogger panel during BEA. Was it successful and will that happen again in 2010?

Do you mind sharing what you got out of going? Even if it was just networking. I only suggest this because from what I've read, you're hoping that folks are already going to BEA and will just have to make the choice to stay an extra day. For those that are not going to BEA, I think the agenda will make the difference, along with networking and a purpose.
Yes, there was a book blogger panel during BEA last year. I was fortunate to be on it. I thought the panel was very successful, we had a full room and were literally mobbed afterwards by publishers and authors.

Personally, going to BEA for me helped me solidify my role in the publishing industry. It was really nice to be able to literally see what I was a part of. Meeting book bloggers was by far the best part, as well as making connections with publishers, publicists and of course, meeting authors.

We are currently in the process of solidifying panelists for the Book Blogger Convention but we do have a general agenda on the website. We also have some really exciting announcements to make but can't say anything yet.

Also of interest, it that we will be hosting a blog tour the first two weeks of February were bloggers who attended BEA last year will post about their experience. I think that this tour will probably answer a lot of your questions in regards to what bloggers got out of going last year.
The blog tour on people's experiences at BEA is a great idea! On the one hand, I am very drawn to BEA (and I live in the city so I dont have the travel issue) but on the other hand I am unsure what my experience will be like since I am not in publishing but just a book lover! I love the idea of hearing about other's experience at BEA.

Thanks!
We'll be posting the blog tour schedule tomorrow at http://bookbloggerconvention.com. We hope some great information will come out of it!
I wish we had some of these in Australia!

I really want to go! I don't know if I can swing airfare though.
