For those who haven’t come across me, EDWARD, or EDWARD – INTERACTIVE, I think it time to give a proper introduction, and please accept my apology for not making such an introduction before times.
I’m a retired teacher and former senior partner in a firm of solicitors, as described in the book. I keep up my interest in mediumship by leading a Spiritualist circle, hosting a Blogtalkradio show on Reincarnation, and sharing the moderation of Examining Our Religion on Gather.
As to the book, EDWARD is the deepest regression into a single past life ever written, the nature of that life makes it a love story and an adventure story – one verified by conventional historical research. Amongst everything else, it blows the lid off Tudor ‘history’ and gives you a mysticism of relics, including the Holy Grail and Druid Glass. The paper back has been published in U.S. and U.K. editions to very good reviews.
Before writing it I had to consider whether I wanted to explode the conventional Tudor history you see everywhere, from academic texts to popular fiction. With so many careers built on William Shakespeare’s propaganda I do not fancy forcing readers to make a choice; you can read what I have to tell you about history, just as you can read what I have to tell you about Spirit, Reincarnation and mysticism, as fiction. Edward is a novel in the sense of the new; it also asks you to suspend disbelief, as you would with any fiction – it’s just this story is supported by an awful lot of facts.
In a world far removed from modern democracy the position of someone in Edward’s situation was perilous, the more so for the war fought within him between Love and Obedience. The pace immediacy and climaxes of his story are the reality of drama and need no invention. In a novel, unlike a court, evidence should not get in the way of the story; but the sound of medieval voices, the lives of others in Edward’s drama and the places it happened deserve to be known.
Last month I published EDWARD – INTERACTIVE on Smashwords, it now has very good reviews there also and it’s available to download free.
The reasons it’s free are partly to do with the story; the truth it has to tell about Tudor history and about past-life regression, including the effect regression can have on your present life, and partly because what I’ve done with the eBook is unique; in short, it does what all eBooks should do and may, in the future, come to do. Through more than 60 hyperlinks I give Edward’s world substance, through some of those links, and through 2 entire websites, I hope I give substance to Spirit, Reincarnation and questions about Reality. It may not be true that every eBooks has as much to say as EDWARD, but it is true that every reader has the right to know what stands behind publication.
I wanted to test reactions and see what additions readers might want. The only change I’ve been asked to consider is the inclusion of an epilogue; to add that would be to create an introduction to a second book, and that will take some time to bring out.
In the meantime, I invite you to visit EDWARD’s Smashwords page, where you can also see and hear a video clip.
Please come back to this discussion to let me know what you think!
