Does it bother anyone else... you know, the I'll follow you if you follow me?
Kind of reminds me of the You show me yours and I'll show you mine...
Maybe its just me! Love to hear your thoughts!

It used to bother me, too! A few months ago, I started a thread with the question, "Do you feel obligated to follow people who start following you?"=P
Most of the answers were No . . . but some people also said they didn't mind supporting new bloggers that way--although they might not actually read them.
I think we all want our list of Followers to be a decent reflection of our list of actual readers, but given the current culture of book blogging, hard numbers really count.
I think Hard Numbers count only if you are trying to bring in publishers or make money. But those that are just doing it for fun or for hobby... does it really matter?

If it's a hobby and you have a nice community of regular commenters . . . I'd say the hard numbers don't matter! =)

If we are all already following each other, who is leading?
Permalink Reply by SidneReadz on March 31, 2011 at 8:45pm I think the follow me I will follow you is just another way to gain followers. I know most use it to help get their numbers up. I did participate in one someone started. i peeped at the blog first to see if I would join it. I can't follow if I'm not going to at least stop by once a week. If it was not my kind of genre, i don't follow for a follow.
