I know many of us are on book mailing lists, and review copies are a definite perk of something we like to do.

Trouble is, those review copies add up, along with books you buy or get given and don't love.

How do you get rid of books? Donate them? Sell them? Organize swaps?

If you donate, do you itemize for taxes?

Well, I don't sell them as I don't think that's ethical - I mean I got it free. I didn't even have to pay shipping! Sell meaning get cash for them on ebay/amazon/half-price. It's widely frowned upon to sell ARCs on Ebay.

Baby books/picture books I donate to my stepmom's classroom or my cousin for her baby's library.

I'm going to donate some to the library. They have such wonderful sales, I have to pay them back for the deals they give me!
Hey I should have looked at this! I just posted the same discussion... oops, sorry!
a lot of people will do giveaways with books they have finished. I sell mine so others can read them and help out the book store I sell them too. Some times I'll buy books with the money I get and sometimes I use the money on something I need. I

I'm a former flight attendant and I know for sure that if you leave a book on the plane, you make a flight attendant really happy.  We have a library that once we are finish reading the books we put in the library to be passed along to another flight attendant or pilot.  Trust me, they don't throw them out.
