Hi ! Can anyone give me some more information about this?  I saw a comment about it over on Fiction Vixen's blog and on a comment here.  What does this mean? Does that mean I'll lose the 248 followers I have?  When is this going into effect? What are people doing to replace GFC? If there is a link that I can go to I'd appreciate someone sending it my one.  I really would appreciate some feedback here.  DHM.

Switch to Feedburner (feedburner.com) right now before it goes away completely. I'm not sure if you'll lose them when it goes away but definitely keep pushing them to add that url before it's too late.

It's basically the same thing but you don't get the fancy box on your blog saying how many followers you have. (You still get will see how many followers you have when you're logged into your account.) It's really easier for everyone and it allows your readers to subscribe by email or whatever Feedreader they use.

Thanks, Alison.  I do have Feedburner on my blog already.  People can subscribe to my blog and get a notice via e-mail.  I guess all I can do is to be sure my readers know that this change will be happening in the near future.  Thanks for your comment.  --V

You need to put the RSS option of feedburner on there as well. Most blog readers use a feedreader so the email only option isn't going to help them.

Hi Allison--- I do have RSS feed with Feedburner.  But I'm still going to check our your how to post because there I just noticed that my Feed isn't posting the full review and photo like other people's feeders are.  So something isn't correct.

After I check that out I'm going to try and figure out how to post that Feed directly to my Goggle Plus Page.

I've seen people turning to Networked Blogs and especially Linky now as an alternative.

 

Too bad I've always though GFC was the most comprehensive and easy to use widget.

I use Blogger so i left GFC for people who like to follow me that way. I also introduced Linky Followers for people who don't use Blogger. It's very similar and easy to use.
