Giveaway Help!

I'm about to organize my first ebook giveaway and I was hoping some more experienced bloggers could give me some tips.

The author is keen to do it, so do I just make a form on my blog and let people know about it, then pick someone?

As a blogger, I've found those forms to be loud and more trouble than they're worth. Although I know a lot of bloggers use them. Just my personal opinion...

When I do giveaways, I usually post a question or something that has to do with the author's book, something to promote the author but is still fun. Take the names of the people that answer (make sure they leave their e-mail to contact them back if they win) and when the giveaway is finished use random.org to randomly select a name. That's what I generally do at least and it seems to work pretty well.
