Help. How Can I Improve my Blog?

Hello everyone,

I run a blog called "The Young Book Collector" and I've been blogging since 2010. You would think since I've been blogging for 3yrs that I would know everything there is to know about blogging, but quite frankly I'm at a lost. I'm not sure how to attract more viewers to get more followers and commentary. Can someone help me out? Here's my webpage:http://TheYoungBookCollector.blogspot.com

Maybe you can help me figure out what's wrong with it, because I don't.

I like what your blog looks like. I can't suggest any thing more you can do. I have been blogging since late 2010 but I have slightly less followers than you do.

[Laughs] I don't know what people want now a days. I've seen a lot of beautifully designed blogs and less followers, and then I come across horrible done blogs with bad spelling, and gadgets going everywhere and they have god know how many followers. Ahh.

Your blog looks great. It doesn't appear to need anything different in design or content.

Do you share your blog post links everywhere when you publish a new entry? The more followers you have on other websites will lead to more followers and comments on your blog.

Most blogs don't receive a lot of commentary, because most people who visit blogs just like reading them for entertainment and knowledge; they are not there to actively participate. So don't worry about not having many comments.

With that said, you can try to increase viewers' participation by posing a question at the end of your post; write in an informative, yet friendly manner; and give a detailed response to each commenter. Having giveaways and freebies can attract visitors if you use the right keywords and tags in your posts.

You could also participate in blog tours or blog hops. Better yet, work with a blog tour company to get scheduled to host authors regularly. Each author that you would host would post a link to your blog on their social networks, so that would bring more viewers to your blog, and possibly more followers and comments.

Just be patient, and as you gain more followers, the comments will come.

I don't get many comments either, so I probably shouldn't be commenting here, but I will.

When I clicked on your link above, I had trouble and had to edit the link to get it to work. So test your links. Once I got to your blog the first thing that caught my eye looking was that the title of the top blog post includes a spelling error.

When I read your posts, I try to think what could I comment about? If I haven't read the book, what can I say? Maybe at the end of reviews bring out something from the book that might be something people can comment on... a theme, an idea, a question or something.

Thanks for the advise. However, do you mind telling me where in particular did you spot a spelling error? Also, there's a lot of book blogger who blog about books there viewers haven't read or herd about, but I'll take your advice on the theme, questioning, and idea.
