I have been asked by my authors to place the book reviews that I do for them on amazon.  Amazon won't let me, as I am not a customer of theirs. (I have a kobo not a kindle.) How can I get around this?

I'm pretty sure you need to buy at least one thing on Amazon before you can post reviews. Maybe go buy a song or gift someone a cheap Kindle book?

You should be able to sign up for an Amazon account and then "purchase" a freebie song or book.  That should be enough to allow you to post reviews there.

Books Without Any Pictures

Hi, Christa.  You don't need a Kindle to buy an e-book.  You can read it on your PC or any other device.  As a matter of fact, Amazon offers a free Kindle ap for your pc.  As long as you have an Amazon account you should be able to leave reviews.  I know plenty of people who don't own a Kindle, but have reviewed ebooks.

I think you do have to make a purchase on the site in order to become a member. Fortunately, Amazon has many free e-books that you can download that also count as a purchase.

Everyone here has pretty much summed it up.  Open an account, make a minimal (free books count) purchase, and post away!  Hope you'll take a look at one or two of my books.

Ok... so I took all your advice: still no dice.  I have sent Amazon an email.

My account is over 2 weeks old, I have been gifted and purchased a free book.

I have waited for the 48 hrs.... and still no dice.

HELP!  I am getting frusterated!

You can be an Amazon customer without having a Kindle. Amazon is just a website like ebay. You can buy anything, I mean anything there.

One of those anythings just so happens to be Kindle's and Kindle books. Join, and you can put a review on anything from toothpaste to curtains. Including regular books.

In fact, this is a great place if you are looking for amazingly cheap books. They come used and start as low as $.01. You have to pay for shipping and handeling but it's usually $2.98 and everything is guaranteed through Amazon.

You can post on Barnes and Noble without having a nook.

Hope I helped.

Best of luck!
