Why?? I am a huge, huge fan of the Hitchhiker's Guide 'trilogy' by Douglas Adams. And I came across this article regarding the fact that there is going to be a sixth installment of the series written by Eoin Colfer, which left me thinking the word "travesty" over and over. I have nothing against Eoin Colfer (author of the Artemis Fowl series), but the Hitchhiker's Guide books are absolute classics, and I think that if the late Douglas Adams can no longer author them, the series should be allowed to die with dignity rather than be kept alive by artificial means.

I was wondering how everyone else feels about classic series being taken over by 'stand in' authors. I am going to be stewing about this one for a while...

Travesty, is a huge understatement.
I whole heartedly agree with your sentiment and am only restrained from further comment by a sense of propriety, that the money grubbing so-and-sos who have come up with this idea clearly lack!
