As a Newbie to the blogisphere, I am looking for some real- honest- brutal if necessary feedback on my blog. In return I am happy to provide the same for you!

Please if you have a chance, take a look at my blog and feel free to let me know any areas that I should work on and/or any additions that should be made. My goal is to be taken seriously and really have a chance in this crazy world of blogging for my daughter and I to help contribute to the big wide world of reading we both LOVE so much!

All feedback is welcome!

Thank you for your time!

Your tab heading, "Author's Represented" should be changed. Authors is a plural not a possessive, so drop the apostrophe. Also, I think you mean "Authors Reviewed". In this world, the word "represented" suggests a literary agent is involved.

Love the idea of sharing a book review blog with your daughter!

Thanks! I will change that right now! Thanks for taking the time to take a look, I really appreciate it!

First off I like the idea of a blog shared between a mother and a daughter, but there are some things I would improve. First of all you need to have an introduction to the blog that goes beyond telling authors an publishers you're willing to review their book, the reader needs to know what kinds of books you review (children books, YA, fantasy, science fiction, romance... etc). Also, the fact that your daughter is 8 years old right now would be an incredible asset to publishers and authors of children's books but not so much for others.

It's good that you have changed the represented to reviewed part, and it would be good to link each author to the posts where their works are reviewed. As to the review policy I would break it up into two sets, what you will review and what your daughter will review, and the ones where you meet halfway.

Also, be sure to spell check E's posts, in the one about Tut Tut, there's a typo in the second paragraph. That is understandable for a girl her age, but you are the editor so you should check it; and please include the reviewer at the top of the post, so readers know what to expect.

Overall I liked your blog and hope to see it improve over time.

Daniel,

Thanks fo much for your honest feedback! I sincerely appreciate you taking your time.

Changes I made

1. Fixed the typo (gotta teach that girl about spell check!)

2. Clarified our review policy and what each of us individually review

3. Put Reviewed by E at the top of her post instead of just the tag and -E at the bottom

Thanks so much for the suggestions, I completely understood the reasons behind each of them and TRULY appreciate the feedback!

Next I just need to link those Authors to the pages their books are reviewed...

It was my pleasure K. I've been where you are and can totally understand the need for someone else to give you some input. But more importantly, I'm glad my comments were useful to you.
The book titles are linked to their respective posts.  You should do the same thing with the authors.  This gives visitors the ability to search your posts in two different ways!  I like the uncluttered look your blog has.  Some blogs have so many extraneous things it's hard (for me at least) to know where to look.  The black letters on a light background gives an easy-to-read contrast.  I find blogs with white letters on black background difficult to read...must be my old eyes!

Kathy,

Thanks for taking a look! I really appreciate the posative feedback! Yes! I did something right! I am trying to keep it really clean and simple, I prefer it that way as well. I will also make sure I always have a light background now! :)

As for linking those authors, hopefully I can get that done tomorrow. I've got a book to review tonight!

Thank you!

Wow! So I'm not the only one who posts a review just before midnight!!!

haha! No way! I actually created the post, but have it set to auto post date to tomorrow at noon. I just read an incredible book called A Father's Anguish...

Now off to start reading the next book :)

Have a great night!

1. The "Our Start" tab is ambiguous. Maybe an "About Us" title would be better?

2. For convenience sake, you might want to alphabetize the list of "Authors Reviewed". It makes searching for an author easier. Btw, what do you mean by Authors Reviewed?

3. The Disclaimer thingy is not clickable. You shouldn't have it up there unless there's something in it. Maybe have a note stating that work on it is in progress?

4. I like your blog. It looks good for a relatively new blog. =)

Evangeline,

Thanks for the feedback, you must have caught my blog while I was adding the disclaimer :) It works currently

I decided to take off the Authors Reviewed tab until I can find a better way to do what I am after- which is allow people to look for specific books by author (maybe there is a widget or line of code I can enter to pull the info automatically)

Our Start has been changed back to its original title of "How it all started", about us would only duplicate the info already on the right side margin.

Thanks for combing through with your honest opinion! I really appreciate the feedback!

Thanks again!
