I would like to find people who want to read my book for free and give me reviews?  How can I make this happen?

I wrote an article a while back about how to find the best book blogger/reviewer for you. Hope it helps you out!

What kind of book have you written?  One way to find reviewers is to google "your genre + book bloggers."  Visit the different blogs you find and be sure to read their review submission guidelines and follow them.  In most cases, you can write a nice, short note introducing yourself and giving a small synopsis of your book. I always tell my clients that they should try to read through some of the reviews listed and mention an appropriate one in their pitch letter.  For example, say the blogger has written several good reviews on books that are fast-paced suspense... and your book has that element... you could say "After reading your review of X, I believe you'll enjoy my book which shares is also fast-paced but with a unexpected twist."

Mostly, keep it short and sweet... and make sure the blogger really reviews your genre of book... book bloggers really hate when you send them books that are totally unrelated to what they normally read.

You are very helpful, thank you for taking the time to help me.

If your book has a literary flare, I would be interested in reviewing it.

Thank you so much, everyone!!

I'm not sure if you're a member yet or not but there's a group on book blogs for authors needing reviews and interviews.

Posting a comment about your book in their group may help as well.

If you are prepared to review 4 books in return for 4 reviews from different authors, hop over to

- read the FAQ - it's a really supportive community. You can check out the threads and see the kinds of reviews readers and authors have written

Hi Jane,

I just keeping looking for new bloggers here or at BookReviewBlogs or other sites and email bloggers that I think will be interested in my book.  It might be tough, as sometimes I only get one or two responses on a good day, but the important thing is to keep going!  Good luck!! :)

Try Fran Lewis. Fran does great reviews. She is here at: http://bookblogs.ning.com/profile/FranLewis?xg_source=profiles_memb...

You don't say what genre book you book is but there is a site you might want to look at by Destiny Blaine:  Romance Reviews Submitted by Authors. Most genres are welcome from romance, paranormal YA and erotica. Good Luck.

No Perfect Secret

Hi Jane,

A couple of other reviewer lists I've found to be very good are listed below.  One is by a fellow Book Blogs member:

I've also found that getting your book read and having a review written and published generally takes a few months, or longer. It obviously can vary from blogger to blogger, but most have a backlog of reading they are working on.

Best of luck!
