How Do I Get Followers?

Can anyone give me ideas on how to get followers for my blog? I've put it on Facebook but I don't know how else to go about getting people to follow me. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appricated!

About blog hops and memes, be sure to actually add your post link in the hosting blog. I forgot about that the first times and them because I did the post but didn't add it in the hosting blog and then had a facepalm moment of "Duhhh". :)

[So Many Books, So Little Time]

I found followers through those memes like follow friday and book hop but mostly just browsing blogs and leaving comments on the ones I liked.  Most people then come and visit me back and before long you have followers how come back regularly as long as you return the favour.  My biggest peeve is taking the time to visit someone and comment and they don't even stop by and say hi or acknowledge your comment.

I would say active participation is the key. You really have to interact with fellow bloggers, really really interact, not just dropping a comment or two on their blogs then be-gone. I am not really enthusiastic about facebook pages, as it's really hard to earn followers there but when you do, you are assured they are solid followers. I hope I am making sense. lol :)

The Friday blog hops at Parajunkee's View and Crazy for Books are great because they are strictly for books blogs! There are many other non book blog hops!

 

In the future, maybe you can have a book giveaway and require following your blog as part of the requirement to enter.

 

Remember, though, some people may be turned off when they see the warning about language and content. I don't have a problem with it, but some people might.
