At the moment I have around 236 followers via GFC, but I still find it really hard to get comments on my blog. The number of pageviews I receive are fairly high giving me the impression that people are actually reading them, just not leaving their feedback ... How can I get more people to interact with my posts? Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Getting comments is hard. And not always necessary, but I understand the need to know what people think and that they are actually reading. :) Sometimes it can feel like you're talking to yourself. If it's important, how about asking a question or two at the end of a review. Not just "have you read it?" or "what do you think?" but something that may spark a little more conversation. Or you could use commenting on reviews as entries in any giveaways you do. Your own interaction is important too. Talk back - answer questions or comments. Visit your reader's sites too and comment on their blogs. Create actual relationships.
I'm not much help - I've never been overly concerned with comment counts. Good luck!

Thanks! :) There's only one person who regularly comments on my blog and I try to do the same for her blog.. I guess I'll just have to create more of these relationships :)
Permalink Reply by ManOfLaBook.com on May 9, 2012 at 7:49am There are many techniques but the best one, I found, is to comment on other people's blogs. Usually they will reciprocate, make it a point to comment on at least three blogs a day.

Hear, hear. it was only when I committed myself to leaving regular comments for others, that people started leaving regular (and meaningful) comments on my blog. The biggest thrill, still, is getting unsolicited, out of the blue new comments and followers.
The hard part is trawling all those blogs out there and trying to find ones you like yourself that you want to respond to in the first place!

Yes! Totally agree - the hard part is looking for other blogs you like and want to comment on!

Thanks.. that's a good target to set .. hope it helps :)

Ask your readers questions. You might present your point of view on a topic but try to ask how your readers how they feel about it. Discussion posts are fantastic for stirring up conversations.
Try to respond to all your comments. Also jump by their blog to leave a comment. Readers are much more likely to return if you do that. Of course, you should be reading other blogs and commenting on them as you see fit. That will drive people to your blog as well.

Thanks! Will definitely try to comment on others blogs more.. :)

Well, I went to your site, and I can tell you one thing: your posts always have the same title -- "What's Hot?" followed by whatever the post topic is about. Maybe you should try different post titles. You don't have to put your blog's name in every post title. Also, in my opinion, you don't post often enough. Yes, I know that blogging is VERY time-consuming, but that's the way it is... So I would recommend more post variety, and posting more often. I try to post at least three times a week. It's hard for me to do that, because I have a VERY busy schedule. However, it's necessary.
Also, try googling the following: "how to get more blog comments", and see what you come up with. I did that earlier today, and found some links. I haven't had time to read them yet, though, but I certainly will!
Here are some of the ones I found:

I have to check these out myself... Good luck!! : )

thanks for the detailed feedback! Mm yes I considered changing the titles of my posts a while back but now I'm just kind of in the groove of naming them like that .. I'm not sure, but I think a lot of my views come from people googling 'what's hot' so it kinda works in my favour... Yes I know, posting regularly is a problem :/ I usually post a lot more but it's exam period at the moment so :( Thanks for the links!!
I had this same dilemma a few months ago and got some great advice right here! I started following more blogs, posting questions on my blog , and interacting with other bloggers by commenting on their blogs. I also stated opinions that I knew were a bit controversial and that started to create conversation. I find it's still a challenge but it's definetly improved.. I have over 9,000 page viewers and have only been blogging since November..I'm not hung up on comments anymore...Just doing my thing and hope people enjoy it!

Hmm great advice! It's a little difficult to create controversial conversation since I only post reviews and in general my views aren't that radical but I shall try to include more of my own opinion.. thanks :)
