How do I get people to follow me on Twitter?

How do I get people to follow me on Twitter? I am following those who replied to my other post. I don't know how to Twitter them and add them to my invite list. Is this necessary? I am new to Twitter and I am trying to use it to invite people to read my blog. It would be nice if we could Twitter without having to know the email addresses already.

If they have their account set up to be notified when somebody follows them, then they will know that you have followed them and hopefully they will follow back. If you'd like your blog readers to follow you, then have a button on your blog that links over to your twitter profile. Make sure that your profile is filled out with name, photo, website, and description. I'm unlikely to follow back when I don't know anything about them. When I go to your blog, there is no Twitter button and your email is only good if I want to email you an invite. The easiest thing to do is to link to your actual profile on Twitter when telling people how to find you.

I added a Twitter button to my blog which asks if anyone wants to follow me. Is that what you are referring to?

You don't need to know someone's email address to follow them on Twitter. All you need to now is their user name or search the Twitter site for someone's name to see if they twitter under that name. To follow someone you just do to their profile on Twitter (www.twitter.com/username) and click "follow".
