How do you get books for a giveaway?

I want to hold a giveaway on my blog, but since I don't have a job, I don't think I can afford to buy books to giveaway. Whats the best way for me to obtain books for a giveaway.

I also saw that people hold giveaways for books the they get from people at Hatchette Book Group---does anyone how to contact them?

Some authors/publishers are willing to give away copies of their books... but I think to start off with it's best to sign up for the giveaways in the different groups on here. Join the groups on here. The publicist will post a discussion when they have books available for giveaways. Then when you're more established you will get more authors/publishers offering you giveaways.

Actually, if you look at some of the groups on here, you will see that Hatchette has their own group and will post when they have books for giveaway.

If you offer to review an author's book, then interview him or her, you can also ask if he or she would like to donate a book for give-away. The author will be responsible for sending the book to the person who wins. Most reviewers will pick their winners from the best thought out comments about the interview. You just have to remind them to leave their e-mail so you can get in touch with them. Reviewing books isn't the only way to do it. A lot of reviewers will interview an author without even reading their book, simply because it brings extra traffic to their site. Most authors enjoy being interviewed and will readily accept your request to donate a book. I hope this helps. Good luck!
