I am looking for any information on how to get into bookstores. It appears they may have something against the self published and the POD. I have tried everything that I know. Any good suggestions?

Like everybody already said. Most book stores don't take books that are POD. If I was you I would go to your local blockbuster. And talk to them, about selling your book, cause they will pretty much accept any book. As long as it has a barcode and isbn. I also would advice you to talk to some of the mom and pop stores in your town,,,about selling your book, cause most of them will, as long as you give it to them to for free, and they will pay you for the books you did sell. And they will return the ones that didnt sell back to you. I also advice you to donate a couple copies of your book the local library. Doing that build a little buzz around town.

You might find a local distributor who deals with indie presses. I own a new micro-press in BC, Canada and only just now (after two years and 5 print titles) am starting to submit books to distributors for review. It is true that many of them will not even look at you if you're self-publishing. But I honestly think that will change in the future.

Yes Duende Sands I believe you are correct. I think the world will be changing especially because of e-books, they just make the world a lot easier for a lot of people. It is sad that the world may be denied some great authors because they are self-published. Someone has to be the pioneer, right? Good luck to you and thanks for your input.
