How do you keep track of the books you've read?

Recently I was visiting my brother and sister-in-law when I noticed their calendar. On the bottom of each calendar page my sister-in-law had written every book she read that month. This lead to an interesting discussion as to how each of us keep track of the books we read.

I, myself, prefer a journal. I list the book, author and how many pages I read. My goal is to see how many pages I read each year.

What about you? Do you have a unique or interesting way to keep track of all the books you read?

I have an excel spreadsheet... I just put the title, author, genre, and pages and then I have it at the bottom add up the books read and pages read. I also use Goodreads online to keep track and I put reviews on there too.
I didn't really have any method earlier and ended up re-reading a lot of books, because I just couldn't keep track.

For the past few months, I have been tracking my reading on my blog at:

I too keep a spreadsheet along with author, title, year published, when read I use an A,B,C rating in the last column.

A = loved it, would read anything author wrote
B= okay, I would give the author another look
C= don't even think about reading this author again

I'm now keeping a running list on my blog also
I am such a slacker! Excel spreadsheets? I just list them on my blog, new reads in 2009, re-reads in 2009. And you guys keep track of the pages you read? WOW! That's awesome! I've never thought of doing that!
I have a journal that keeps track of all the books I've read :) I'm on my second journal (used up the first one) :)
I use to keep a list in my planner, then I tried excel, then a journal. Now I blog. I joined several challenges this year but the two you need to know about are "100+ Books" and "Pages Read". I'm at 183 already and am wondering how close to 300 I'll get. As for "Pages Read", you set a goal for the year. I said 50,000 and have read just over 54,000 at the end of July.
I like to keep track of pages b/c then if I read a really big book it won't look like I'm not reading that much, lol
I'm so glad you do pages read. My son once failed his six-week reading section because he hadn't finished a book. Nevermind that he was reading Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and was almost finished. He hadn't taken a test so it didn't count.

gads, I've got to get over this - he's 20 and this was when he was in jr. high!
So far I have been using livingsocial.com, where I can keep up with the books I've read as well as ones I would like to read. I sometimes post I review but I always rate the book out of 5 stars. I might start using an Excel sheet. It sounds like a fabulous idea.
Interesting topic. I have a list of the books I've read in a Word document, listed by title and author. Should have used Excel, but started with Word so am stuck with it. Actually have 10 docs now because it got too big. Have the lists sorted by author's last name. I've also been keeping track on my blog and Goodreads. Haven't kept track of the number of pages or year read, although Goodreads has that option.
Well, I did spreadsheets and Word docs off and on, but never was consistent. Since I've been on LibraryThing, I can label my tbr books to keep things straight. This works for me since I'm only cataloging books I actually own. I do still use a spreadsheet for library books and have been consistent because I don't often check out books for myself, I prefer to own most of my books.
