Hello there. I'm about to host an e-book giveaway on my site soon, and it's my first one ever for any type of giveaway. Just wondering how long people usually hold their giveaways until they announce a winner?

Thanks for your help,

~Felicia.

Ummm....it really depends.  Unless it's a joint thing or a giveaway hop, I usually give 2-2.5 weeks.  This gives me enough time to really advertise it and get as many people to enter as I can.  IT varies sometimes according to my personal schedule.  I have three on my site right now if you wanted to check them out - 2 for print, 1 for ebook.  Good luck with your giveaway!

Thanks! :)

I had someone tell me a month. I think I ended up doing about 3 weeks for my first giveaway and it was perfect! I used the 4th week to draw and notify the winners

Good luck!

Thanks a bunch for your help! :)
I have one that I run all month.  If you are running a contest for an author or publisher, you may want to check with them.  I know for Hachette, they need to run at least 16 days, so the giveaway can be posted on their contest page.  Some authors only want them to run 10 days.  I like to run mine for 14 days since that gives me enough time to advertise.
I've just started hosting giveaways and I run them for a month.
I usually just give it a week. Cos even when I advertise and with stragglers then not many show up afterwards..or I am just afraid I will forget about it ;)
I usually do one a month, and I let it stay open until the end of the month, but you do have to keep advertising it!
