How to build followers

Hello!

 

I've been blogging for a few months now and I'm slowly growing my following, but I'd really like to grow it and I'm not really sure how. I know giveaways are a big thing and I have one I'll be doing pretty soon, but most of my books I've only been sent one copy and they are mostly ARC or personalized for me. Thanks!

This thread is super helpful :) I started my blog back in 2009, but I didn't actively try getting any followers or anything like that until a month ago. Well, that is also partly because I run my blog on my own server, using Wordpress so I had just discovered the Google Friend Connect widget that is built into Blogspot blogs, and I realized I could have it too. Hehe.

 

Long story short, so far memes seem to be working, and I find that if you comment on other people's blogs on a semi-regularly basis, those people will likely visit you back and sometimes, even start following you :) It's happened to me! My own blog is at http://skyink.net if anyone wants to check it out.

I love following new blogs! It does help to follow others, but I have also found that many bloggers don't realize they have a new follower until you leave a comment or invite them to your blog. I'm following now!

One other point is the current inability to join Google Friend Connect.  It is not working for anyone.  I am one of many, many people who have asked Google what's going on - no replies yet!

 

So, for following right now, I follow by email, or Networked Blogs.  But, I miss GFC!! 

 

I will try to follow by email as many blogs as possible - or seems reasonable to keep up with!!  And I will put Friend Requests here in Book Blogs.

Patricia, I was having that problem last weekend, and maybe it was just coincidence but after I cleared my cache and restarted the laptop it was fine again. If you haven't tried it already that might be worth a go.
