Hello everyone! I have been seeing a lot of book trailers lately-- for those of you that don't know what that is, it is like a video commercial for your book, and it looks a lot like a movie trailer. I've heard that they can really boost sales if they are done well. I was really thinking about paying someone to put together a video trailer for the book, but with prices ranging from $300-$2,000 I decided to skip it.
But I was looking through one of my favorite blogs and saw a rather amateurish-looking book trailer that another author had done. It was obviously slapped together--some of the pictures were really blurry. But I clicked on the link to the video production website, which was
One True Media.
I went to the website for One True Media and signed up for the "Premium" membership, which was only $40 bucks. This allows me to access all different types of background music and snazzy backgrounds, and insures that my videos won't have the website's advertisements on them. was so easy! And you can design as many videos as you want-- I am going to do it for all my books! You can even order DVDs of your own videos—I am going to see if I can actually use this site to create my instructional videos for next year. If I can, it will save me thousands of dollars in design fees. I made my own trailer in about 3 hours-- music, special affects, the whole bit! It was way easier than I thought it would be. I'm still going to play around with it some more and try other types of music and backgrounds-- the selection for options was too much for me to look through all in one day. Tell me what you think-- I've got the first video posted on my
resource website and my blog.
