How to Get 100's of New Followers to Your Blog

One of the most effective ways to attract new readers and gain new followers is to join a reputable Blog Hop and Giveaway. These are well organized, widely promoted, and bring hundreds, and sometimes thousands of participants to your blog in just a few days. If you haven't tried this, I invite you to register for BOLD'S PALOOZA BLOG HOP AND GIVEAWAY scheduled for September. What will it require from you?

 

In joining any Blog Hop, you will want to follow directions and follow through with your commitment. Believe me, you'll be amazed at the results. Check out the guidelines, if you think the Hop is something you can handle, then complete the registration process. Some Hops have free registration and some charge a fee. Those who charge fees usually promote heavily and offer events and giveaways that build BUZZ, benefiting your blog. Look for Hops that post an active Blog List early so that your blog will benefit from the exposure for the weeks or months leading up to the actual Hop date. Build anticipation on your blog by posting sneak peaks or teaser posts about what you will be giving away. Be sure to post the Hop's button on your sidebar, the more people who know about the event, the more people who will be visiting you during the Hop dates.

 

Joining 2-3 Hops a year, without exaggeration, will add hundreds of followers to your blog, your twitter account, your FB Fan page, etc. You can fund the giveaway yourself, or you can solicit sponsors who will provide the prizes for you. Choose the method you're most comfortable with. Be honest and follow through with your prize distribution, this will build wonderful PR for your next Hop.

 

Blog Hops and Giveaways come in all sizes and shapes, so to speak. Choose two or three that fit you during the next year and watch you blog visitors and page views soar through the roof. IF you don't believe it works, visit some of the bigger blogs, you'll notice that they not only promote Hops, they actively participate in several each year.

Since the coordinator of any major Blog Hop spends months promoting, organizing, coordinating, and helping the blogs that do register, and since most of the money received is poured back into promoting the Hop for the benefit of all the blogs, and since $20.00 is a very small amount to show your blog follows that you appreciate they're taking the time to visit and peruse your blog, I'd say it was more than reasonable and fair.

 

The old saying is so true - "You can always identify ignorance when it opens it mouth."

 

But do come back and see the results in September. Record the number of followers of any of the participating blogs before the Hop, then check them after it's finished. You can determine the 'value factor' for yourself.

I might be ignorant but I don't pay upfront.

 

You should have stopped after the first paragraph, which explains quite well why you're charging a fee.

Again, good luck, I will certainly keep an eye out - even if participating blogs don't get hundreds of followers I promise not to call you names - a courtesy you obviously don't extend to others and is somewhere in the top 10 of blogging "donts".

I apologize if I was more forthright with my words than you were. However, an insult veiled, is still an insult.

 

Nevertheless, you are correct in that there really is no excuse for discourtesy. So I do beg your pardon.

 

Since I have yet to make a cent in profit from my blogging endeavors, it really gets to me sometimes to have my blogging integrity questioned. I work hard to promote bloggers through my free e-zines and blogs. I give away tons of advertising, so much so, that no one ever pays. :) To have someone imply that I'm scalping money from them is highly insulting. That is my humble excuse for a momentary lack of restraint.

 

It takes courage to express your honest opinion, and I respect you for doing so.

Actually, there is already quite a long explanation as to what services BOLD will be providing those blogs that register for the Palooza Hop and Giveaway on the site under Guidelines.  I too think everyone should know what to expect before putting down their hard-earned money.
