How to get involved.

Hi Everyone.  I am still trying to figure this all out and still feel a little lost.  Does anyone have any good tips to really get started and involved on this site?  I have been on here for a couple  months and I feel like I am pulling the biggest blonde moment ever!

I think you just did, starting a discussion seems a good way to start.  I think it depends on what you want to get out of the site.

Thanks.. I think it is a little overwhelming (just like anything) and I seem to be timid and just jumping in on the net stuff!  I have no idea why..

I understand how you feel, I find it all a bit bamboozling! I found it helpful to just do a bit at a time. This is a great site for advice and useful groups. I would get a blog up and running and try getting followers. Try not to think about this being the internet and therefore a scary, unfathomable medium, think of it more as a place to talk to others and have fun finding things out.

Agreed with the comment it depends what you want to get out of the site.  What are you looking for?

I joined to connect with other bloggers and hopefully authors to 1- expand my blog audience (Which is a gimme since that is what everyone wants!) and 2 (and more important) - to become a better writer and make connections with other bloggers/writers.

I think this is a great site but at the same time am seeing a lot more of look at my blog or promoting type thing (at least where I am looking)   And I am having a hard time just jumping in.  Who would have thought I would be internet group shy.   

I hope that all made sense.

I know what you mean, this site used to be really friendly and helpful but it seems to be more and more about self interested self promotion rather than community.

I'm with ya Amber! I just joined today and I feel like I'm just looking around, trying to find the right spot to jump in. :) I think I may have to set aside a specific time of day to get in here... It's so overwhelming.  Good luck to us both!
