How to Make my Blogger Nice and to stand out more?

Hey Guys,

I've seen some pretty awesome looking blogs on blogger. All decorated with Headers and such and many other things. My question is how do you guys do it? How do you guys make your blogger look crafty?

The single best way to get your blog noticed is always to network. Being a part of book blogs helps. You visit other people's sitse, comment on their posts, follow them, and they'll follow you.

 

I think a blog's appearance and content should primarily be a reflection of you. When you're real, people will notice, and respond to that.

 

Your blog looks nice. I've seen the library background many times before, so it doesn't stand out as being unique, although it is applicable. I have to admit -- and this is really just me so take it with a grain of salt -- I have trouble with strange fonts. Now, my vision isn't good, so that may be a part of it, but I have noticed that when I particularly struggle with reading something, people with normal vision will chime in with, "Me, too!" (Only they didn't want to mention it.) The easier text is on the eyes, the more likely people will be to read it, IMO.

 

I do like your rating system (5 books). And you have reviews posted regularly, which is essential. You could also mix it up with some author interviews or some just for fun things.

There are many downloadable blog layout/ skins out there to choose from. Google it and see if something sparks your interest. I agree with the previous reply regarding the font. I have bad eyes as well and I wasn't able to read anyhting, it just made my eyes hurt. Good luck.

I just checked out your blog. I couldn't follow because it wasn't working, but will come back later. I agree with the others that your font is hard to read, but liked your site. 

I have had the same question as you. I keep seeing cool sites, but blogger doesn't offer much. Guess I will surf the net.Lol

I use Cutest Blog on the Block for my backgrounds :) There are a lot of html base codes you can add in to blogger to customize your look!

I would suggest not having the posts all in capital letters. It makes it seem like shouting, and also have a more normal font for the blog post itself. If you want a header, it's easy! On your design page under header you can upload photos or pictures. You might have to change the header photo in a photo-editing program to make it the right size.

 

The blogger Template Designer is a lot of fun to play with! You can really do a lot with it. I spend far too much time playing around with it.

I would consider widening the center column to better highlight the entries that you have and possibly changing to a more ledgible font. I have found that less is more and it just takes time to tweak! Look at other sites, decide what you like and always be willing to modify!
