I'm looking for a few new YA authors to read. Right now I am reading Sweep by Cate Tiernan. I loved the Hunger Games, The mortal instruments, the Morgan Vampires, Janni Lee Simner and Maria V Snyder's. Got any ideas? Thanks. Going to the bookstore soon.

Click on the link below - We've collated some wonderful books which have got raving reviews and you may just like one!

I just finished Across the Universe.  by Beth Revis.  I thought it was pretty good.
I just read The Reapers Are the Angels. A Novel. by Alden Bell. It was powerful. Now I'm reading Among Others by Jo Walton and enjoying it very much.

You might want to try Lara Chapman's Flawless, its a modern retelling of Cyrano De Bergerac and although the book jacket didn't sell it to me I found it entertaining enough.

You may also enjoy Holly Black's Modern Tales of Fairie (Tithe, Valiant and Ironside.)

From Amanda's list of the ones I've read I back:

Hex Hall

Raised by Wolves by Jennifer Lynn Barnes  (the second book Trial By Fire is out soon.)

I just read White Cat and LOVED it!

Journey into the Realm: The Elf Girl by YA Author Markelle Grabo

This is Markelle's first novel and first book in this six book series.

Markelle is 17 years old (my daughter).  If you like fantasy fiction you will like this.

Check out her website www.markellegrabo.com to read the first chapter, see the book trailer and learn more about her. You would need to order this on-line via barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com as it is not in stores yet.  Well, it is in a few local booksellers in Wisconsin, but since it was just released in April it is very new - but getting great reviews thus far.

Enjoying Hunger and Wraith by Jackie H. Kessler. Lots of fun. Enjoyed them a lot
Mistwood by Lean Cypess (just posted a review)

She's also coming out with a new one in the same world next month.
I just read Blood Warrior by H. D. Gordon and it was great. If you liked the hunger games the main girl in this book kind of reminded me of that. I got it at amazon.com in the kindle store for $.99 so it might be what you're looking for! Good luck
