I dream every night and have a weird trick of waking up in the middle of the night and if I like my dream, I can go back to sleep and continue it. I woke one night, rushed to write down all the charactors and locations, went back to sleep, woke again and finished a very rough outline of the story.
My son is at university in Oxford studying a film degree. I gave him the plot outline and he's going to either have a go himself at writing it up as a novel or putting it down as a script for a film.
I wish him the very very best. Well you can't miss when the story involves...hum better not say anything, don't want to spoil the surprise.
Does anyone else get ideas from dreams?

I have, yes. Not an entire idea, but a formulation or an insertion into a work in progress. Usually, this happens when falling back asleep in the morning or taking a rare afternoon nap, when dreams seem the most vivid for me.
It is interesting, how one can wake up from a dream and then continue with the same dream when falling back asleep. I imagine this occurs when not being fully conscious when one awakes, then one kind of falls back into where the dreamscape left off.
